Record Owner – Home of World Records presents Top Films, Top Filmmakers & Top Film Companies of the World, a global recognition initiative celebrating outstanding achievements in cinema.
The recognition honours films, filmmakers and production companies whose work has earned multiple official selections at film festivals. Qualified achievers are featured in the Record Owner Annual Book of Records, creating a documented record of their cinematic journey and accomplishments.
Selected record holders receive dedicated book coverage, an online profile with video showcase, an official certificate, medal, plaque and a hard copy of the annual record book.
This is more than recognition. It is an opportunity to document your achievement, preserve your journey and become part of cinematic history.

Eligibility – Top Films: A film must have received a minimum of 3 official selections at film festivals. Feature films, short films, documentaries, animation, experimental films, music videos and other recognized film formats may apply.
Eligibility – Top Filmmakers: A filmmaker must have received a minimum of 5 official film festival selections, which may be achieved through one or multiple films.
Eligibility – Top Film Companies: A production company must have produced or officially co-produced at least 2 films, with those films collectively achieving a minimum of 5 official film festival selections.
Proof of Achievement: Applicants must provide verifiable evidence of festival selections. Record Owner may request selection letters, certificates, festival webpages, official laurels, screening schedules or other supporting documents.
Verification: Every application is subject to verification by the Record Owner team. Submission of an application does not automatically guarantee recognition or inclusion.
Recognition: Applicants meeting the eligibility and verification requirements may be recognized under the relevant Top Films, Top Filmmakers or Top Film Companies of the World category.
Annual Book Listing: Qualified record holders will receive dedicated half-page coverage in the applicable edition of the Record Owner Annual Book of Records. Publication schedules and edition details will be determined by Record Owner.
Online Profile: Qualified record holders will receive a dedicated profile page on the Record Owner website, including a video profile/showcase, subject to the applicant supplying suitable materials in the required format.
Record Kit: Qualified record holders will receive a recognition kit consisting of an official certificate, medal, plaque and one hard copy of the Record Owner Annual Book of Records.
Accuracy of Information: Applicants are responsible for ensuring that all names, titles, credits, photographs, festival selections and other information submitted are accurate. False, misleading or unverifiable claims may result in rejection or withdrawal of recognition.
Publication Permission: By submitting materials, applicants confirm that they have the necessary rights and permissions for Record Owner to use the supplied photographs, film stills, logos, biography, video links and achievement information for verification, publication and promotion of the recognition.
Editorial Rights: Record Owner reserves the right to edit, shorten, format or arrange submitted information for consistency with the design and editorial standards of the book, website and promotional materials without materially changing the facts.
Final Decision: Record Owner's verification and eligibility decision regarding inclusion in its recognition program and publications will be final, subject to correction of demonstrable factual errors.
Amendments: Record Owner reserves the right to update eligibility criteria, verification procedures, publication specifications and these rules when necessary. Changes should not retroactively remove recognition already formally granted except in cases of fraud, material misrepresentation or error.
Applicants for Top Films, Top Filmmakers & Top Film Companies of the World should submit the following materials for verification, publication and preparation of the Record Owner recognition kit.
TOP FILMS OF THE WORLD: Film title, poster, synopsis (50–100 words), director/producer details, country and year of production, minimum 3 festival official-selection details, proof of each selection, 3–5 high-resolution film stills, trailer/video link and official website/social links, if available.
TOP FILMMAKERS OF THE WORLD: Full name and professional title, high-resolution profile photograph, short biography (100–150 words), filmography, minimum 5 festival official-selection details, proof of selections, major achievements/awards and showreel, interview or profile-video link, if available.
TOP FILM COMPANIES OF THE WORLD: Company name and logo, company profile (100–150 words), country, details of at least 2 produced/co-produced films, minimum 5 official festival selections across those films, proof of selections, key achievements, 3–5 high-resolution photographs/stills and company showreel/profile-video link, if available.
